Lyle Dwayne Erbe, 69, of Ammon, passed away December 12, 2018. Lyle was born September 30, 1949, in Hoven, South Dakota, to Willard Woodrow Erbe and Althea Merkle Erbe. He grew up on a farm in Java, South Dakota, and went to farm school until 3rd grade. He then went to Bowdle Public School. On September 10, 1966, he married Marlene Joy Barth in Bowdle, South Dakota. They were blessed with two children, Tamara and Wayne. Lyle and Marlene were later divorced, but remained close friends. Lyle worked as a forklift driver for General Mills for 35 years in Lodi, California, and then retired to Ammon, Idaho. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bowdle, South Dakota, Edenezer Congregation in Lodi, California. Lyle’s hobbies included rock collecting, fishing, jewelry, and he had a green thumb for house plants. He especially enjoyed spending time with close friends and family. Lyle is survived by his loving son, Wayne (Sylvia) Erbe of Ammon, ID; ex-wife and friend, Marlene Joy Erbe; grandchildren, Dimitria Erbe, Krystal Rodriguez, Ashley Joachim, Lindsey Joachim, Toniann Ryans; great grandsons, Chad and Christopher Jones; and great granddaughter, Serenity M. Truppa. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Tamara Joachim. Private family services are being held.
