LUCILLE SUMMERS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lucille Backlund Summers, 76, of Idaho Falls, died January 11, 2003, at her home of leukemia. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health Care.
She was born September 12, 1926, in Idaho Falls, to Daniel Severus Backlund and Elena Nelson Backlund. She attended the Riverdale School and graduated from Shelley High School.
She married Gene Summers October 22, 1945, and they were later divorced. She lived in the Idaho Falls area most of her life, with the exception of one and a half years in Pocatello. She worked for King's, Just Appliance, and retired from Pillsbury Processing in Shelley.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Sunday School, Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women's programs. She enjoyed sewing, camping with her family, and picnicking with her children and grandchildren.. She also enjoyed being with people and doing “little things” for others. She was a friend to all she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Janet Summers, three brothers, Carl Backlund, Arnold Backlund, and Eno Backlund, and a sister, Florence Storms.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2003, at the Idaho Falls LDS Boulevard Ward, 351 West 14th Street, with Bishop Art Rammell officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and for one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
