LUANN RAY IDAHO FALLS, ID -- LuAnn Schofield Ray, 45, of Idaho Falls, died July 17, 2004, along Box Canyon near Island Park, Idaho, while canoeing with a church group. She was born October 12, 1958, in Idaho Falls, to Jay C. Schofield and LaNea Michaelson Schofield. She grew up in Blackfoot and attended schools there, graduating from Blackfoot High School. She then obtained her Associate Degree from Ricks College. She married Donald M. Ray April 8, 1983, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where she was a homemaker and mother. She also worked as secretary and office manager for John & John, Public Accountants. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was serving as Young Women's President at the time of her death. She had also served in the Primary, in the Relief Society Presidency, and as Activities Chairman. She enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, crafts, and fishing with her father. She loved being with the Young Women and especially loved shopping with her three daughters. Surviving are: Husband: Donald Ray, Idaho Falls, ID Three Daughters: Tera Ann Ray, Idaho Falls, ID Melissa Sue Ray, Idaho Falls, ID Nicole Lyn Ray, Idaho Falls, ID Mother: LaNea Schofield, Blackfoot, ID Brother: Mark Jay (Caridad) Schofield, Blackfoot, ID Brother: Joseph Blaine (Diane) Schofield, Dugway, UT Sister: Katherine Arnn, Blackfoot, ID She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, Jay Schofield, and her father-in-law, Thomas Lloyd Ray, Jr. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS 21st Ward, 1155 East First Street, with Bishop Phil Wheatley officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
