Loyd Dean Robbins

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Loyd "Papa" Dean Robbins, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, following a long battle with cancer. Dean passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones.

Dean was born to Johnny Wesley Robbins and Verda Pedan Robbins on March 29, 1942, in Calipatria, California, the oldest of five children. Dean spent his childhood years in various places throughout the valleys of California. He served four years as a radioman in the United States Navy during Vietnam.

On April 6, 1968, he married Judith Ann Gallner. Dean and Judy were married for 54 years and had two daughters, Deanna Teressa (Robbins) Lancaster and Cynthia Marie Robbins. They raised their daughters in Lemoore, California.

Dean worked as a civil servant attached to NAS Lemoore until retirement in 2007, then relocated to Idaho Falls.

Dean didn't know a stranger, he was always quick with a smile and a joke. He enjoyed spending his time with family, playing golf, and singing songs around the campfire.

Dean is survived by his sister, Alice Barcellos and his baby brother, Jimmy Robbins, both residing in California; his two daughters, Deanna (Robbins) Lancaster and Cindy (Cynthia) Robbins; his four grandchildren, Chelsea Nicole Lancaster, Kylie'ann Brook Lancaster, Mykael Dean Pope, and Ronin Ray Perez; his three great-grandchildren, Amelia Riatt Garrey, O'lenna Lucille James Springs, and Annette Mae Duarte, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Dean will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A Life Celebration with military honors will be announced at a later date.
