LOVENE D CROCKETT
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lovene D Crockett, 92, of Idaho Falls,
died January 8, 2005, at Turtle & Crane Assisted Living Center surrounded
by his family.
He was born October 26, 1912, in Dayton, Idaho, to Irving
Earnest Crockett and Alice Dees Crockett. The family moved to Preston
where he lived until the age of seven. The family moved to New Sweden,
where he attended grade school, and later to Idaho Falls, where he attended
Idaho Falls High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War
II.
On June 24, 1936, he married Margaret Clara Mae Heimberger
in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He owned and operated Crockett Conoco
and Crockett Sinclair. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge. His wife
preceded him in death on October 14, 1999.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, he held many callings, including Bishop and Temple Sealer. He
served in the East Central States Mission and later he and his wife served
in Tahiti and in Switzerland. For a semester he lived in Jerusalem with
his wife as an assistant to the Ricks College Nursing Program.
Lovene enjoyed traveling, yardwork, bowling, camping,
and was a great fly fisherman. His greatest joy was spending time with
his family.

Son: Bruce (Layne) Crockett, Shelley, ID
24 Grandchildren, 69 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Lynn Crockett; two brothers,
Perry Crockett and Reese Crockett; two sisters, Melva Poppy and Donna
Salisbury; a granddaughter, Sandi Fox and a great granddaughter, Hailey
Jackson.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January
13, 2005, at the Shelley LDS Sand Creek Ward (1101 East 1250 North), with
Bishop Michael Crockett officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from
6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Thursday for one
hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.

kind and loving care.
