Louise Reynolds Birch, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. She was under the care of Hearts for Hospice.
Louise was born June 30, 1924, in Blue Water, New Mexico, to Benjamin Jones Monk and Augusta Tietjen Monk. She grew up and attended schools in Cowley, Wyoming. She also attended nurses training at LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, and received her Associate’s Degree. She was a member of the Women’s Army Corps during World War II.
On November 15, 1945, she married Arlin L. Reynolds in Littleton, Colorado. They adopted three children, Janice, Hayley, and Kline. Louise and Arlin made their home in Lost River Valley, where Louise worked as a Registered Nurse for Butte County Public Health.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Primary teacher and Sunday School teacher. She served an LDS mission in Four Corners. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, working in the yard, and beading.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Janice Hernandez of Blackfoot, ID;
daughter, Hayley McCord of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Stanley Kline (Salois) of Hayden, ID;
brother, Ron (Cheryl) Monk of Littleton, CO;
8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arlin L. Reynolds and Reed Birch; father, Benjamin Jones Monk; mother, Augusta Monk; brother, Edgar Monk; sister, Sarah Herem; grandson, Mario Gutierrez Jr.; grandson, Jose Hernandez, Jr.; granddaughter, DanaLynn Louise.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Moore LDS Stake Center, 3100 North 3350 West, Moore, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Lost River Cemetery.
