Louis MacGregor Boyle, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at his home.
Louis “Luke” was born May 17, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Gordon Lovett Boyle and Pearl Hartert Boyle. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He served in the United States Navy before graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Idaho in 1950. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at the University of Idaho.
On June 6, 1950, he married Geraldine Myra Early in Moscow, Idaho. To this union was born a daughter, Cynthia. Louis and Geraldine made their home in Idaho Falls, where Louis was President and Owner of L.A. Hartert & Company, an insurance brokerage and real estate firm.
He was a past president of the Idaho Falls Independent Insurance Agents Association. He was also a member of the Idaho Falls Real Estate Board, Idaho Falls YMCA, Kiwanis, Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce, and Toastmasters International. He enjoyed walking, skiing, and fishing.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Geraldine Boyle of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Cynthia (Kingsley H. III) Murphy of Ketchum, ID; grandson, Kingsley H. Murphy IV of Bozeman, MT; and brother, Richard G. (Aris) Boyle of Idaho Falls, ID.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Lovett Boyle; mother, Pearl Hartert Boyle; and brother, Steven H. Boyle.
A Celebration of his Life will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue.
