LOUIS BACH
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Louis Arthur Bach, 91, of Idaho Falls passed away October 12, 2009, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
He was born November 7, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York to Arthur Bach and Jennie Koppelman Bach. He grew up and attended schools in Brooklyn, graduating from Textile High School in 1937. He moved to Tucson, Arizona and in 1941, enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp and served during World War II.
In February of 1942, he married Gladys Potter in Long Beach, California. They divorced in 1945. In 1946, he attended Maren Elwood School of Writing. He married Helen Betty Daner Hallock in Havre, Montana in February of 1956. They have been happily married for 53 years.
He worked for 25 years as a newspaper reporter throughout the West. He last worked at the Post Register for 8 years, and had also been employed by Blackfoot News, LDS Hospital, Darrell Harris Publishing, Havre Montana Daily News, Tucson Arizona Citizen, and Santa Barbara California News-Press. Following his retirement, he was a freelance writer for several years in the Northwest.
Louis was not affiliated with any church but he believed in God and prayed all of the time. He enjoyed politics, writing, reading and watching the television. He also enjoyed writing screen plays and especially loved being with his beloved wife.
Louis and his wife are very grateful for the special care and friendship they developed with their caregiver, Amanda.
He was survived by his wife, Helen; and six nieces, Carol Flemming, Trish Goodwin, Marian Walker, Monna Hallock, Judy Dianbietro, and Kris Van Norman.
The family has requested private services with military rites provided in his honor by the Bonneville County Memorial Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
