LOUIE L. STANLEY, JR.
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Louie Loderick Stanley, Jr., 86, of Seattle, Washington, died November 26, 2005, at the home of Michael and Kay Ann Purcell in Idaho Falls.
Louie was born August 20, 1919, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Louie Loderick Stanley, Sr. and Nellie Clyde Hix Stanley. He grew up in Atlanta, and graduated from Tech High. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1937 and was honorably discharged, then re-enlisted to serve in World War II and was discharged in 1946 in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He later moved to Miami, Florida, where he operated an aircraft repair business. He next moved to Seattle, Washington, and worked at Boeing Airplane Company, then to California to work for Lockheed. He then returned to Seattle and worked at the Bremerton Shipyard doing electrical and electronics on both ships and submarines until he retired.
Louie married Sharon Lee Jenkins Robinson October 17, 1975, in Seattle, and they celebrated their 30th anniversary this year. He was an early member of The Navigators, a scripture memory, one-on-one discipleship group founded by Dawson Trottman in the 1930s. His life's work was to study the Bible and the meanings of words from original languages in order to help people understand what the Lord is saying to them, publishing various works. Louie was a man with eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart that understood. His purpose in life was to love and follow the Lord Jesus Christ, and his heart's desire and joy was to entreat all he met to embrace the Lord in their life. All who could receive it were blessed by his strong faith, his firm but gentle admonitions, his loving character, and his ability to look into a person's heart and meet its needs through the love of Jesus the Christ; he fought the spiritual battle for many.
1 John 3:2, 9; John 11:25-26. Believeth thou this?

I had the honor of treating Louie the last few months. I was humbled by his spirit, touched by his stories and blessed to be in the presence of a Godly man. My soul was moved because of Louie's positive outlook. I can not imagine the dificult internal process he experienced, but you never would have never known his pain and suffering. He had such a STRONG will to live. Every visit with him, he said he believed that something good was going to happen. Looking back, several "good" things have happened, but I know that the best thing to happen to Louie is that he is now with his Lord and Savior and is resting peacefully in a new body in heaven. Louie, I will never forget you, your life or your Spirit. You have touched and changed my outlook on medicine!
