LOU GUSTIN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Louis Richard “Lou” Gustin, 77, of Idaho Falls, died April 27, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 21, 1924, at Moscow, Idaho, to Ernest Ashley Gustin and Rose Lorene Burton Gustin. He grew up and attended schools in Moscow. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Following his Air Corps service he served in the Navy and Air Force. He retired as a Sergeant in the 882nd Battalion.
He married Alice May Stanfield April 15, 1944, and they were later divorced. He moved to Idaho Falls in 1971, where he worked for 10 years for the city sanitation department, at ShopKo for 8 years, and was a police officer in Ririe from 1969-1971. He also operated Williams Detective Agency in Idaho Falls. He worked in security in Washington before coming to Idaho Falls.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes and guitar and played with the Old Time Fiddlers and Old Time Music Entertainers.
Surviving are:Friend: Carolee J. Funk, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Karen Louise [Gary] Hanchett, Lewiston, IDSon: Lanny Ralph [Joyce] Gustin, Pullman, WASister: Loretta Van Doren, Tacoma, WA 4 Grandchildren & 4 Great GrandchildrenHe was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002, at the Moscow Cemetery in Moscow, Idaho, with Pastor Rick Parsons officiating.
