LOTTIE J. MADISON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lottie Jones Madison, 87, died June 28, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Charlotte Ann Moulton, in Ephraim, Utah. She was born August 11, 1916, in Ammon, Idaho, to John William and Amanda Cretta Southwick Jones. She grew up in Ammon and attended Ammon High School. On February 9, 1934, she married Truxton Dale Madison of Lincoln, Idaho. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 31, 1953. She became a registered cosmetologist in 1950 and elected to remain at the Ex-cel-sis Beauty School in Idaho Falls as an instructor. She enjoyed going to state competitions with her students. She loved music and her musical talents were all self-taught; she could play any tune on the piano if she knew the melody. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the Young Women organization and as ward chorister for several years. She was serving as a Young Women Counselor at the Darby girls camp on the August 1, 1951, when lightning killed five members of her ward. She had a great love for the outdoors and her favorite past-time was spent at the family cabin in Mack's Inn. Many of her favorite stories were about her experiences as a young girl during the summers at Island Park. Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Ann (Eugene) Moulton of Ephraim, Utah, and a son, Dr. Richard Dale (Jerrie) Madison of St. George, Utah; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Truxton, her husband of seventy years, passed away February 10, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mazel Kenny, Rula N. Kennedy, Alta Hoffman, Rayola Lundblade and a brother Wayne Jones. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 3, 2004, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Saturday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home East Side. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
