Lorraine Zeda Moser Jenkins, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away November 4, 2010, in Idaho Falls from complications due to a recent heart attack.
Lorraine was born April 15, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the 15th of 16 children born to Francis Moser and Elise Stucki Moser. She attended school at Fairview Elementary and Ucon High School.
She married Don Hawkins Jenkins of Ucon, Idaho, on June 14, 1945, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. A homemaker and mother, Lorraine also worked outside her home for many years. She worked at The Bon Marche, at Slusser Wholesale, and for 37 years at The Mart, which later became Just's Appliance. She was also a precinct worker at all local, state and national elections. She taught many microwave cooking schools throughout South Eastern Idaho. Lorraine loved cooking and baking with her grandchildren and playing games of all kinds. Lorraine will be remembered for the 20 years of care she gave to her twin sister, Lorrine. Don passed away June 11, 1993.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lorraine held many callings in the Relief Society and Young Women and served in the Primary organization for 35 years. She gave her time and dedication to hundreds of children throughout those years. Participating in the ward choir and regularly attending the temple were two of her greatest enjoyments.
Lorraine is survived by her four children, Roger (Anne) Jenkins of Hacienda Heights, CA, Gayle (Philip) Christensen of West Valley City, UT, Lynn (Teressa) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID, and Kay (Jolene) Jenkins of Chubbuck, ID; her sister, Elmina Harper, of Salt Lake City, UT, her brother, Joseph Moser, of Idaho Falls, ID, 8 granddaughters, 8 grandsons, 18 great grandchildren and counting, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her parents, four brothers, Lyman, Louis, Fred, and Jacob Moser, and nine sisters, Annie Johnson, Louise Widerberg Priest, Gladys Jensen, Lucy Widerberg, Alice Smith, Ines Shore, Grace Wilkins, Maxine Van Noy, and Lorrine Moser.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the Idaho Falls LDS 9th Ward, 395 Second Street, with Bishop Richard Jones officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
