Lorraine Pearl Womack Black, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away to join the love of her life, William, on November 21, 2014, at Lincoln Court Retirement Center. She was born March 8, 1924, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Vern Franklin Womack and Pearl Humphreys Womack. She attended Blackfoot Elementary before moving to Shelley, where she attended schools and graduated from Shelley High School. She attended the LDS Nursing School in Idaho Falls, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. On April 1, 1945, she married William Warren Black in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They shared 59 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2004. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker and also worked as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading, needlework, crossword puzzles, and crocheting. Lorraine made the best pies; if you ever had one of her pies you would never want anyone else's. She is survived by: Daughter: Patricia L. Wilkinson, Idaho Falls, ID Son: William C. (Kay) Black, Ririe, ID Daughter: Terri L. (Bill) Fohrenck, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Gregory W. (Robin) Black, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Michael S. (Marcy) Dale, Idaho Falls, ID 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Merlin and Wayne; and a sister, Lois. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with Reverend Pamela Mayes officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her name to one of the following: Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), Dept: Memorial Donations, 2100 L Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037; Primary Children’s Medical Center, P.O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, UT 84158-0249; Memorial and Honor Program, Huntsman Cancer Foundation, 500 Huntsman Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108; St. Labre Indian School, 1000 Tongue River Road, Ashland, MT 59003.
