LORNA SHELTON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lorna Joyce Taysom Shelton, 72, of
Idaho Falls, died July 19, 2004, at her home of cancer. She was under
the care of the Aspen Foundation for Hospice Care.
She was born September 17, 1931, in Moreland, Idaho,
to Ray Lelland Taysom and Reoma Leta Price Taysom. She grew up in the
Woodville area and attended schools in Shelley, graduating from Shelley
High School. She also attended schooling to become a dental assistant.
She married Warren Newton Shelton January 20, 1951, in
Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls
LDS Temple. They made their home in Osgood, where she was a farm wife,
homemaker and mother. In recent years she had worked as a billing clerk
at the hospital and then as a secretary for the Ryan Clement Farm.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, she served in various Relief Society and Primary callings over
the years. She loved horseback riding, barrel racing, softball, quilting,
family history research, and reading.

Son: Warren “Dee” (Laurie) Shelton, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Brian (Kristin) Shelton, Auburn, WA
Brother: Maynard Taysom, Boise, ID
Brother: Deloy Taysom, St. George, UT
14 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dell Taysom.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 23,
2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS Osgood Ward, 7940 North 35th West, with Bishop
Bill Taylor officiating.
The family will visit with friends Thursday from 7 to
8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Friday for one hour
prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
