Lorna Butikofer

Lorna Mae Butikofer, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away on October 26, 2011, at her home. She was born on October 8, 1930, in Shelley, Idaho to Chester Parley Wadsworth and Electa Maria Saunders Wadsworth. She attended schools in the area, graduating from Blackfoot High School. On June 2, 1948, she married Allen Rey Butikofer in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Lorna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in numerous callings including Sunday School and Primary Teacher, Relief Society Visiting Teacher, Young Women’s Baseball Coach, Temple Worker, Missionary Companion and gave a lifetime of selfless service. She enjoyed painting, scrapbooking, genealogy, embroidering, sewing, and quilting. Survivors are: Husband: Allen Rey Butikofer, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Eugene (Evelyn) Butikofer, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Connie (Wayne) Gray, Shelley, ID Son: Keith Butikofer, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Patricia Butikofer, Yelm, WA Daughter: Susan (Brad) Anselmo, Nampa, ID Daughter: Janice (Winston) Petersen, Pleasant Grove, UT Daughter: Jolene (Dave) Blakely, Rigby, ID Son: Jeff (Paige) Butikofer, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Kelly Butikofer, Salt Lake City, UT Brother: Dee Wadsworth Brother: Ray Wadsworth Sister: Jean Stucki Sister: Neta Jones 36 Grandchildren, 58 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Beth Hiatt; and a grandson, Trent Butikofer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Grant Building( 3431 E. 100 N) with Bishop Dennis Love officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Grant-Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to OneSource Hospice or Coltman 2nd Ward Missionary Fund.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday 6-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial in Grant-Central Cemetery.
