LORI ANN MARKS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lori Ann Olsen Marks, 40, died suddenly and unexpectedly on December 17, 2003, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She leaves her husband, Glenn Marks; daughter, Olivia, 13; son, Ethan, 11; her mother, Sheila Olsen; grandmother, Dorothy Sorensen; nine siblings; parents-in-law, Ron and JoAnn Marks; and a host of family and friends. She joins her father, Dennis M Olsen, who preceded her in death by some eighteen years. Lori was born October 8, 1963, in Idaho Falls, to Dennis M. and Sheila Ann Olsen. She attended local schools at Theresa Bunker, Clair E. GAle, and Idaho Falls High School. She graduated from Idaho State University in 1990 with a BS degree in nursing. Following her graduation, she worked for two years as an intensive care nurse in the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. For the next several years she was a Hospice Nurse at the Good Samaritan Center. She founded Hospice of Eastern Idaho in 2000. At the time of her death, she was serving as the Program Specialist for Aspen Home Health and Hospice. She developed each one of their hospice programs, including their bereavement plan and the bereavement packets and worked with volunteers, spiritual liaisons, social services, and hospice nurses. Lori was respected throughout Eastern Idaho for her expertise and leadership in the hospice program. She was deeply appreciated for her compassion and guidance at the time of the passing by patients where she touched hundreds, if not thousands, of lives for the better. She was also regarded as a leading specialist in the care and treatment of AIDs patients. Lori found her deepest satisfaction in her home and in the lives of her husband, Glenn, and her children, Olivia and Ethan. She gardened, canned, and cultivated expert homemaking skills. She served as room mother, head of the Halloween school party, and worked with her children on all of their school projects. She coached her daughter's baseball team, supported her daughter on her figure skating team, and was assistant coach for her other teams. She worked with her husband, who coached her son's baseball team. She found particular pride in her husband's service as a fireman-paramedic. She had a strong sense of the importance of family solidarity in her immediate and extended family, where her influence was deeply appreciated. The family will greet friends at 10 a.m. on Monday, december 22, 2003, at the Calvary Chapel, 4250 South 25th East (on Hitt Road south of Sunnyside) with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. The family is grateful for the many expressions of condolence and suggests for those who wish, that a donation in lieu of flowers be made to the Olivia and Ethan Marks Education Fund by visiting any US Bank, or mailing to US Bank, Attention: Olivia and Ethan Marks Education Fund, 585 First Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
