Loretta Louise White (Demaria), passed away at the age of 86, on January 12, 2026, surrounded by family.
Loretta was born on December 15, 1939, at Park's Victory Memorial Hospital, in Napa, California, to Alma (Cardwell) Martin, formerly DeMaria, and John DeMaria.
From an early age, Loretta worked at the family's store in Napa, Johnny's Market. She attended Napa High School, graduating in 1957, and then went on to attend San Jose State University.
In 2005, Loretta relocated from Napa to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to be closer to family. This is where she made her home for the remainder of her life. Above all else, Loretta's greatest joy was her family, where she was the matriarch. She played an active role in raising her grandson and loved family dinners and weekend road trips. She was delighted to spend fun-filled days at the casino with her daughters.
Loretta dedicated her career to banking, retiring twice from two different financial institutions. She was proud to say she worked until she was 75. Over the course of five decades, she was known not only for her expertise in finance but also for her genuine kindness and the countless relationships she built along the way.
Loretta was deeply committed to serving others. She volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing comfort to seniors confined to their homes. In her later years, she actively participated in causes she cared about and did not hesitate to share her beliefs on social media.
Her friendships spanned a lifetime. Loretta made a deliberate effort to stay connected with friends from childhood and former coworkers who became lifelong friends. Though she often described herself as shy, her authenticity and sense of humor were infectious. Once a bond was formed, it endured the test of time. An avid reader, Loretta found true happiness surrounded by books, whether in a library or browsing her favorite bookstores.
Loretta is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth White and Lori Marschalk (Cory); her three grandchildren, Troy Marcroft (Meleia), Sydney, and Sophia Marschalk; three great-grandchildren she inherited through Troy's marriage, Iseiah, Keisha, and Isaac Buena; and multiple nieces and nephews . She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis White, her parents, Alma (Cardwell) Martin, formerly DeMaria, and John DeMaria; her brothers, John and Gary DeMaria; and her beloved dogs, Ace & Lily.
A private celebration of life will be held at a future time.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal rescue, a cause close to Loretta's heart.
