Lonie Wayne Burns, 67, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away October 6, 2011, at home.
He was born June 5, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Burley Burns and Gladys Viola Brunner Burns. He and his brother, Donie, were born as twins, his mother’s second set. He grew up and attended schools in the area. At the age of 18, he moved to Vancouver, Washington where he graduated from Hudson Bay High School.
Soon after he married Donna Smith and they later divorced. In 1966, he moved to Rigby where he had since resided. Lonie worked as a fry cook in a bakery. He belonged to the Idaho Fiddlers. He was a spiritual person and was associated with the Jehovah’s Witness organization his entire life.
He enjoyed music and played the guitar, fiddle and sang. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. He loved to play with his dog, Finny, and pal around with his nephew, Dale, who was his best friend.

Sister: Naoma May Burns of Glendale, California
Sister: Mary Helen (Clyde) Walseth of Rigby, ID
along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Lonie; his parents; and two brothers, Melvin Burns and Ernest Brunner Burns.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, with Edward Sarouhan officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., both at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery.
