Lola Alleyne Gneiting Klingler Duncan, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012, in her home at The Gables while under the care of Hearts for Hospice.
Lola was born August 9, 1923, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ludwig Frederick Gneiting and Mary Alfa Gould Gneiting. She graduated from Midway High School and attended Ricks College.
On June 23, 1942, she married Lorin Ward Klingler in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple for time and eternity. They raised four children together. Lorin was killed in a logging accident on June 16, 1955.
On July 15, 1969, Lola married Morris Duncan in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various auxiliary organizations. In 1981, Lola and Morris had the privilege to serve a full-time LDS mission in Holbrook, Arizona, working with the Navajo Indians.
Lola was an accomplished seamstress who loved the necessity of creating clothing for her family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sketching, and crocheting. She and Morris especially enjoyed camping together with family and friends in Idaho and surrounding areas.
Lola’s whole life revolved around her family: giving unconditional love and always sensing when one of them needed her. She believed this was the entire purpose of her life and by living this mission, she left footprints in our hearts that will last forever. She was known as Mom, Grandma, Grandma-Great, sister, wife, and Lola. She was a true angel to anyone lucky enough to cross her path.
