Click Here To View Memorial Video Lois May Ricks Woodland, 84, of Ammon, passed away October 16, 2014, at her home. She was under the care of her loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice. Lois was born August 12, 1930, in Moody Creek, Idaho, to Elden Cecil Ricks and Sylvia May Larsen Ricks. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and graduated from Ucon High School. She also attended Ricks College and West Valley College in California, earning a certification in Early Childhood Development. On August 6, 1952, she married Larreau James Woodland in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born 5 children, Rick, Carl, Nancy, Janice and Garth. Lois and Larreau made their home in Utah, Virginia, California, and Idaho. Lois was known as the “baby whisperer” and enjoyed interacting with children in their early developmental years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed world travel to 29 foreign countries with Larreau. Together, they served two service missions for their church; one as managers of a Bishops’ storehouse, and one as leaders in the Addiction Recovery Program. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lois is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Larreau, son, Rick (Darlene) Woodland of Meridian, ID, son, Carl (Debra) Woodland of Morgan Hill, CA, daughter, Nancy (Marciel) Camacho of Los Gatos, CA, daughter, Janice (Randy) Nielsen of Rexburg, ID, son, Garth (Chanelle) Woodland of Ucon, ID, brother, Blair (Norma) Ricks of Helena, MT, sister, Karen Dunlap of Helena, MT, sister, Carol (John) Van Dyck of Ammon, ID, sister, Diane Wheeler of Ammon, ID, brother, Gery (Sharon) Ricks of Dillon, MT, 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Ricks; two grandchildren, Michael John Camacho and Amie Marie Camacho. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Ammon Stake Center, 2055 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Rd. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.

Ammon Road Ammon, ID, Bonneville 83406 Notes: The family will visit with friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Rd. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior, at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
