Howard Lloyd Cousin, 94, of Ammon, passed away March 12, 2020, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family.
Lloyd was born March 4, 1926, in Woodville, Idaho, to David Cousin and Adelia Mangum Cousin. He grew up on the family farm and attended school at Taysom School in Woodville, and then Idaho Falls. He met his best friend, Jack Wickham, when they beat each other up. They were best friends forever. He served in the United States Navy as an E-3 during World War II.
On May 1, 1954, he married Elva Rae Pope in Basalt, Idaho. They were blessed with five children, John, Roxann, Helen, Alan, and Lyle. Lloyd and Elva made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Lloyd worked as a ranch hand and retired from American Potato. Elva passed away December 8, 2000.
He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, snow machining, and driving his four wheeler.
Lloyd is survived by his loving children, John Cousin of Ammon, ID, Roxann Cousin of Salt Lake City, UT, Helen (Doug) Baxter of Idaho Falls, Alan (Kelly, deceased) Cousin of Idaho Falls, Lyle (DiAnn) Cousin of Idaho Falls; 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Adelia Cousin; wife, Elva Rae Cousin; and five brothers and six sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at the Ammon Cemetery, 5226 East Sunnyside Road, with Bishop Robert Johnston of the Ammon 3rd Ward officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Navy Honor Guard.
