Lisa Ann Keating, 44, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012, after a boating accident on the Snake River in Bonneville County.
Lisa was born November 11, 1967, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the only daughter of Richard George Wasley and Gloria Nadine Rollison Wasley. She joined two older brothers who loved to tease her, but also loved to spend time with her. She attended Osgood Elementary, Eagle Rock Jr. High, and graduated from Skyline High School.
Growing up, Lisa enjoyed participating in horse shows and sewing. She received many awards including Best in Show.
Lisa married Raymond Lee Keating December 12, 1992, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Ray welcomed Lisa and Ayla with open arms and together they had two more beautiful children, Melissa and Raymond Lee II.
Lisa was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the Primary. She worked for Eastern Idaho Public Health District for 22 years in various positions, the most recent being IT Network Analyst.
Lisa’s greatest joys were her three children. Whether it was being a "BMX Mom," a "Band Mom," a "Bowling Mom," or just "A Mom," she was always there to support them. She loved to sew and knit and was never without needles and yarn. She could look at any pattern and be heard saying "oh that's easy" and before you knew it, the project was complete and more beautiful than the picture. She was a talented seamstress and was always more than happy to share her talents. She also loved to read and snuggle with her cats. She would joke about the "farm and ranch" she lived on, but would dutifully get up early and tend to all the animals. She'd have to spell out "feed the dogs" while tiptoeing around or the dogs would go wild. Lisa was proud to have recently received the Weight Watchers 25 pound award, 16-week charm, and 5K charm.
Lisa had a special knack for making you laugh when you least expected to. Her wonderful sense of humor and her compassion for everyone around her will be missed.
Lisa is survived by her husband of twenty years, her children, Ayla Jean Reese of Mississippi, Melissa Mae Keating and Raymond Lee Keating II, both of Idaho Falls, her mother, Gloria Nadine Wasley, two brothers, Kirk Wasley and Scott (Tammy) Wasley, all of Idaho Falls; and her "third" daughter Faith Logsdon. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard George Wasley and her grandparents.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS Iona 7th Ward, 1040 Crimson, with Bishop Doug Weber officiating. The family will visit with friends following the services at the church.
