Lisa Marie Clay

Lisa Marie Clay, 58, of Firth, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at her home.

Lisa was born January 26, 1967, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Royce Vernal Hilmer and Marcia Jane Murphy. Lisa's primary care giver from infancy was her Aunt Donna Jean. At the age of 3, Lisa was legally adopted by her Aunt Donna Jean who became her mother. Growing up, she lived in the surrounding areas of McCammon, Inkom, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls. She attended schools in all of these areas. Lisa attended high school at O.E. Bell Jr. High and Idaho Falls High School. In the year of 1993 on April 26th, she obtained her high school equivalency certificate. This same year, Lisa went to work at Payless, which later became Rite Aid, where she started as a cashier and then found her passion in working in the pharmacy. Lisa was so smart and determined. She studied hard to earn her state certification to be a pharmacy technician. She enjoyed and continued her career as a pharmacy technician for over 15 years. She dedicated herself to the care of others.

At the age of 16, Lisa met and fell in love with the love of her life, Bruce John Clay. On April 17, 1984, Bruce and Lisa were married and remained married for 21 years, until Bruce's passing in 2005. Lisa loved Bruce so much that she never remarried. Bruce was her eternal partner. Over the next four years, they welcomed three children into the world, Johnathan, Jordan, and Jeanna. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Lisa was filled with endless amounts of love, and her passion was sharing it. She cherished every opportunity to help others, especially her loved ones. She went out of her way to do for others. She had a great adoration of animals, and spent her life taking in rescues and caring for them. Any sick or abandoned animal that needed nurturing she was surely there to provide it. Lisa made sure they were given full bellies and safety.

Lisa's most cherished thing was camping at her favorite place called Rainey Creek. It was a second home to her and her family. Almost every weekend throughout the summer she would plan a trip up to her special mountain. Lisa had two favorite holidays above any other. They were the 4th of July and Christmas. Spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy, and she looked forward to gathering together with them for these holidays. Great celebrations took place and she was always so excited to make food for everyone and share her love. Lisa made Christmas a magical experience. She was attentive to listening to those around her all year at the mention of their likes or needs and always presented the most meaningful gifts from her heart. She reveled in the joy and laughter that was shared during these times. To know Lisa was to know love. It was a true gift to be loved by her. She will be dearly missed by many.

Lisa is survived by her daughter, Jeanna (Derek) Clay Hill of Idaho Falls, ID; mother, Donna Jean Lawrence of Firth, ID; brother, Pete (Natalie) Hilmer of Idaho Falls, ID; and many very close friends that she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce John Clay; sons, Johnathan Clay and Jordan Clay; and stepfather, Virgil Lawrence.
