Linden James Butikofer

Linden James Butikofer, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 11, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Linden was born June 8, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Walter Hyrum Butikofer and Leona Louise Gunderson Butikofer. He grew up and attended Fairview Elementary School, Bonneville High School and later graduated from San Diego High School in California.

On January 14, 1955, he married Lois Jean Cantral in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Linden and Lois made their home in Idaho Falls where they raised their two sons and farmed in Bonneville and Jefferson Counties.

Linden was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Although he had many interests, work was his hobby. He loved spending time in the outdoors, and especially enjoyed flying his plane, but most of all, he cherished spending time with all of his family.

Linden is survived by his loving wife, Lois Jean Butikofer of Idaho Falls, ID; sons, Michael Butikofer of Idaho Falls, ID, and Gerald Butikofer of Idaho Falls, ID; siblings Leonora Ford of Bountiful, UT, Merle (Ulene) Butikofer of Rigby, ID, Deanna Spaulding of Shelley, ID, and Don (Gaila) Butikofer of Idaho Falls, ID; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Rosemary Butikofer and Carol Peterson.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
