Linda Kay Singleton, 68, passed away December 15, 2019, in her home in Idaho Falls after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and five children. Linda was born in 1951 to J. Ted Johnson and Clara Nadine Egan in Powell, Wyoming. She attended school in Powell as well as in Munich, Germany, during her father’s military service. She graduated from Powell High School. She also attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. While at BYU, Linda met her sweetheart Larry, and they were married in the St. George Temple in 1973. They were blessed with 5 children. Larry and Linda lived in California for a number of years before finally making their permanent home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a firm testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and a deep love for her Savior. She taught her children faith in Jesus Christ and emphasized the power of prayer. Her advice to her grandchildren was to “Pray Always.” Linda enjoyed her time in Germany and retained a love for German food and culture throughout her life. She enjoyed making her favorite German dishes as well as other culinary creations. Linda was a woman of many talents. She loved music, especially singing, although she didn't discover how talented she truly was until later in life. She sang with various musical groups throughout the years, including The Osgoods and The Sweet Adelines of Idaho Falls. She especially enjoyed singing at the Idaho Falls Farmer Market for the last 12 years, as well as singing at local restaurants such as Grandpa’s Southern BBQ, and the Cellar. She also delivered singing telegrams. She enjoyed working with flowers and was a talented designer. She worked at The Rose Shop in Idaho Falls for a number of years. Her home was filled with beautiful flower arrangements she created just for the love of creating them. Linda was a very kind and tender-hearted person. She loved her family deeply and would have done anything for them. She enjoyed supporting her grandchildren by attending their concerts, performances, and sporting events. She loved beautiful, whimsical things like fairies, angels, and ballet dancers. She enjoyed and excelled at art, music, and painting. She loved the ocean, beach, lighthouses, and sea shells. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Nadine Johnson. She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry; five children, Machelle (Jerad) Littlefield of Rexburg, Idaho, Malinda (Dave) Wood of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ryan (KayDee) Singleton of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Russell (Jocelyn) Singleton of Meridian, Idaho, and Darren (Andrea) Singleton of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her sister, Nancy (Helmut) Worle of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and 15 loving grandchildren.
