Linda Lee Owens, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 8, 2024. Linda was born January 31, 1944, in Rexburg, ID, to Omer Faler and Melba Hiatt Faler. She grew up in Squirrel and Wilford, ID. She learned the value of becoming a hard worker while helping on the family farm. She attended high school at South Fremont High School where she was well liked, on the drill team, involved in FFA, and was nominated as queen. She met her spouse, Richard "Rick" Owens, in Wilford, ID. Rick remembers Linda riding a horse and wearing her red "Bobby McGee" bandana. Rick and Linda were married September 19, 1962, in Wilford, ID. They had their first son, Lance, in 1965, followed by Chris in 1970, and Patrick in 1977. They lived in several different cities while beginning to raise their young family, settling in Idaho Falls, ID, in 1975.
Linda worked hard raising their boys while building her career. She began working at a bank and then as a loan officer. She eventually became a well known and successful realtor in the community of Idaho Falls. Family was everything to Linda. She loved them dearly. She was proud of her 3 boys and adored her 4 grandboys. She enjoyed being involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives as much as she could. For over 30 years she was highly involved in supporting her boys, their friends, and then her grandboys in the sport of wrestling. She was a true "wrestling mom"! Linda loved family, friends, reading, country music, a good margarita, and her Springer pups.
Linda is survived by her husband, Richard "Rick" Owens of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Lance Owens of Idaho Falls; son, Christopher T. (Robyn) Owens of Boise, ID; son, Patrick Alan (Jacquie) Owens of Meridian, ID; 4 grandboys, Taylor, Cade, Preston and Carter Owens; and sister, Sheila (Boyd) Neilson of Brigham City, UT. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Whitmore; father, Omer Faler; and mother, Melba Faler. A visitation will be held at 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project (support.woundedwarriorproject.org or 855-448-3997), Idaho Humane Society (idahohumansociety.org/donate) or monetary donations to plant a tree in her memory.
