Linda Gayle Mortensen, 65, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 2, 2014, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, John.
Linda was born June 9, 1948, in Murray, Utah, to Gale Quintin Sundberg and Winnifred Ann Wagner Sundberg. She grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from Olympus High School.
On September 21, 2001, she married the love of her life, John A. Mortensen, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Linda and John made their home in Idaho Falls, where Linda was a Workman's Compensation Administrator at the INL. She also worked as a medical transcriptionist and was a volunteer at the Museum of Idaho. John preceded her in death June 10, 2009.
She was a Christian and a member of the Water Springs Christian Fellowship. She enjoyed her grandchildren, quilting, gardening, golf, fishing, camping, and just loved life. Linda was a wonderful friend and an amazing and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed!

son, Tyler Grant (Stephanie) Jacobson of Spangdahlem, Germany;
mother, Winnifred Ann (William) Cardinal of Idaho Falls;
brother, Kent (Linda) Sundberg of Austin, TX;
sister, Marlene (Robert) Empey of Idaho Falls;
sister, Luanne (John) Sirak of Henderson, NV;
brother, Scott (Cheryl) Griffith of Phoenix, AZ;
brother, Carl (Cheri) Griffith of Gulf Shores, AL;
four grandchildren, Jordan Moss, Alex Jacobson, Courtney Moss, and Emily Jacobson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Mortensen, and her father, Gale Quintin Sundberg.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Snake River Animal Shelter at P. O. Box 51741, Idaho Falls, ID 83405.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 2086 - 12th Street Circle. Burial will be in the Archer-Sutton Cemetery.
