Linda Messmer

Linda Lee Messmer, 55, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Linda was born July 24, 1958, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Lee R. Schaefer and Eva LaRene McCulloch Schaefer. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and earned her GED. She also attended Eastern Idaho Technical College. In September of 2002, she married Tom Michael Kearns in Idaho Falls. Linda worked in the bakery at Smith's Food and Drug Store and at Idaho Falls High School. She also delivered newspapers for the Post Register. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed camping, taking care of her home, yard work, and cooking. Linda is survived by her husband, Tom Kearns of Idaho Falls, ID; her sons, Jaime Willemin, Jason Willemin, and Nicholas Messmer; father, Lee R Schaefer; her brother, Alan Schaefer, and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother, Eva Schaefer. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS 9th Ward, 395 2nd Street, with Bishop David Gemar officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to help with funeral costs at Wood Funeral Home.
