Linda Cain

Linda Lee Cain, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 19, 2024, at Lincoln Court retirement community. She was under the care of her loving family and Hospice Of Eastern Idaho (Dr. Scott Taylor).

Linda was born August 21, 1943, in Delhi, Louisiana, to Jack Herman Lightsey and Margie Blanche Edwards Lightsey. She grew up and attended schools in Louisiana and graduated from Kilbourne High School (Valedictorian). She also attended Northeast Louisiana University, where she earned her bachelors degree in home economics education in 1966.  She later earned a degree in elementary education also at Northeast Louisiana University in 1980.

In December 1961, she married Billy Ray Hendrix in Louisiana. They were blessed with two sons, Paul and Christopher. Linda and Billy Ray were later divorced. In 1989 Linda married Victor Cain in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and were later divorced.  Linda made her home and worked in Vicksburg for over 20 years as a seventh grade math teacher retiring in 2008.  She moved to Idaho Falls in 2009 to be closer to her son and grandchildren.

Linda was a devout Christian and loved the Lord God, her savior.  Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter and sister. She was kind and loving to all and freely gave herself to others.  She loved being a teacher and enjoyed all of her students equally.

Linda is survived by her son, Paul (Jill) Hendrix of Ammon Idaho: sister, Janet (Michael) Wiggins of Missouri: brother, Max (Marcia) Lightsey of Florida; and three grandchildren, Lauren, Miranda, and Trey (Jeongeun) Hendrix.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Margie Lightsey; son, Christopher Hendrix; brother, Glynn Lightsey: sister Sylvia Lightsey; and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Oulton Hendrix.

Private family services will be held at a later date in Louisiana.
