Lily Mae Hunter, 74, formerly of Dubois and Spencer, passed away on May 24, 2016, at her home in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, with family by her side.
She was born May 4, 1942, in Parker, Idaho, to Murray Clifford Hunter and Birdie Marie Grover Hunter. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho.
On June 30, 1960, she married Eugene Hunter in Kilgore, Idaho. Lily and Gene made their home in Spencer and Dubois, Idaho. Together they ran Hunter’s Supply in Spencer, Idaho, and later ran G & L Sales and the Conoco station in Dubois. Later she worked for the Clark County Sheriff's Office until she retired. Her husband preceded her in death on November 3, 1988. She moved to Dutch Harbor, Alaska, in 2011, to be closer to her two children.
Lily enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes, dancing, whistling, and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors are: Daughter: Darlene (Pete) Jeppesen of Dutch Harbor, AK Son: Lance (Nanita) Hunter of Dutch Harbor, AK Brother: Richard Hunter of Dubois, ID Sister: Ruth Garret of Casper, WY 3 Grandchildren: Nathan Hunter, Peder Jeppesen, and McKenzie Hunter
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Carma Siepert, Edward Hunter, Gayle Boatman, Birdie Peabody, Joan Hope, Zola Armstrong, and Myethen Grover Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Dubois LDS Ward (471 East 2nd South). The family will visit with friends from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Dubois Cemetery.
