LILLIAN EARL IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lillian Sams Earl, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 19, 2005, at Mt. Vernon Assisted Living Center following a recent illness. She was born March 15, 1918, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to George Ellsworth Sams and Ila May Webster Sams. She grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Emerson and Riverside Elementary Schools, O. E. Bell Jr. High, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She married William Thayne Earl August 16, 1937, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and mother and also worked as a retail clerk. Thayne passed away February 18, 1988. She spent several years residing at Lincoln Court Retirement Community before moving to Mt. Vernon Assisted Living Center. She was honored to serve as Mrs. Lincoln Court for a year. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lillian served as the Stake Young Women’s Activity Counselor, Ward Relief Society President and instructor, Young Women’s President and instructor, Primary teacher, and as an officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple. She and her husband served a full-time LDS Mission at the Salt Lake Temple Visitor’s Center. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, and cooking, and loved to camp, fish, and boat with her family and friends. Lillian’s beautiful example of service, charity, and love truly blessed the lives of all who knew her. Surviving are: Daughter: Gayla Jean (Dale) Jensen of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Dennis Thayne (Susan) Earl of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Susan Darlene (Brent) Williams of Mesa, AZ Daughter: Debra Jo Hatch of Mesa, AZ Sister: Lela (Ralph) Burgin of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Rhea (Merle) Croft of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Donna Lee (William) Hartman of Ogden, UT 21 Grandchildren & 37 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thayne, two brothers, Chester J. (Bessie) Sams and Ellsworth (Mickie) Sams; and three sisters, Beth (Rulon) Whitehead, Montie (Linton) Pardonnet, and Onda (John) Schell. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2005, at the Idaho Falls LDS Crestwood Ward, 2055 Coronado, with Bishop Kipp Manwaring officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and Monday for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. ___________________________________________ Condolences Sent Orma Barker (2barks@srv.net) My thoughts and prayers are with you.
