IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lila Casper Summers, 82, of Idaho Falls, died November 21, 2007, at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.
She was born March 15, 1925, in Menan, Idaho, to Alma Edwin Casper and Lucy Sellers Casper. She attended Menan Elementary and graduated from the Midway High School Class of 1943.
She married Emmett Lawford Summers in Dillon, Montana April 1, 1944. Their marriage was solemnized April 2, 1946 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She lived in Ogden, Utah; Oakland, California; Rigby, Idaho; Challis, Idaho; Blackfoot, Idaho; Ucon, Idaho; and Moreland, Idaho. She worked as a wife and mother, a waitress, and owned and operated Summers Commercial Custodial & Painting Services with her husband.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a chorister, librarian, Relief Society board member, Primary and Young Women’s teacher, and extraction worker at the Family History Library. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, word searches and camping.

Daughter: Bonnie Rae Dell, Ucon ID
Daughter: Barbara (Glen) Edwards, Smithfield, UT
Son: Reed Edwin Summers, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Berdeen (Bert) Creasey, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: John (Brenda) Summers, Ririe, ID
Step-Sister: LaRue Marchant, Rigby, ID
21 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Thomas James; a grandson, David; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007, at the Ucon LDS Stake Center, 2967 East 105 North, with Bishop Tim Orchard of the Yellowstone Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
