Lila A. Arave - 09/29/2002 Lila A. Arave - 09/29/2002 LILA ARAVE IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Martha Leila “Lila” Anderson Arave, 96, of Idaho Falls, died September 29, 2002, at her home of natural causes. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Lila was born October 24, 1905, to Christian Anderson and Martha Christensen Anderson. She grew up and attended schools in Shelley, then attended Ricks College. Lila married her eternal companion, Parley Andrew Arave, on December 8, 1926, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their home in Blackfoot, where she was a homemaker, wife, and mother. Parley passed away January 30, 1992. After her husband’s death she moved to Idaho Falls to be near her daughter. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served with her husband when he was called as President of the Western Canadian Mission. Parley served as President of the Blackfoot LDS Stake for many years and she served faithfully by his side. She also served as Temple Matron of the Idaho Falls Temple. She enjoyed oil painting, petit point knitting, crocheting, tatting, and spending time with her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are:Daughter: Carol [Bob] Hemming, Idaho Falls, ID Grandson: Rob Hemming, Idaho Falls Granddaughter: Cara Colegrove, Chandler, AZ Granddaughter: Paula [Blake] VanKampen, Idaho Falls Granddaughter: Joanna [Bart] Prestwich, JamestonGreat Grandchildren, Allie, Logan, Payton, Olivia, Christian, and Austin.Sister: Louise Arave, Idaho FallsShe was preceded in death by her husband, Parley Arave, her parents, and ten brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at the Idaho Falls LDS Sunnyside 1st Ward, 3721 Shadow Mountain Trail, with Bishop Karl Decker officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
