Lewis Dwan Harper, age 48, passed away suddenly on Thursday June 23, 2016, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, of cardiac arrest. Lew was born to Ezra and Delores Harper of West Corinne, Utah, the fifth of sixth children. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1986, attended Dixie State College, Utah State, and received a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West in 1997. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, earning his Eagle Scout award and serving a mission to Winnipeg, Canada, from 1987 to 1989. Lew was married to Gina Miskin April 2,1993 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. For 16 years they lived in Liberty, Utah, and most recently in Ammon, Idaho. He was known to most people as Dr. Lew and loved helping people through his chiropractic practice. Dr. Lew loved everyone he ever met and was rarely without a smile. He was especially loved by children, including his 102 nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. His big heart and personality matched his 6'10" frame, along with his big smile and giving nature. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and story teller. With his rich singing voice he was able to express his inner emotions. He participated in many choirs and his sweet baritone voice was enjoyed by all who heard him. He is survived by his wife, Gina Miskin Harper; their treasured friends the Southwicks, Brandon, Janet, Kaleigh, Halle and Corbin; and the Nichols, Blake, Elka, Josie and Kolton. His siblings, Rodger (Lois) Harper, Cherri (Gary) DaHill, Denise (John) Czuba, John (Michelle) Harper; and Marlene Harper (sister-in-law). Lew was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Jerry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at the Ammon LDS Foothills Stake Center 3934 East 49th South, Ammon, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, Idaho Falls, and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at the Ucon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Upper Snake River Idaho Hunter Education Association at USR Hunter Education, 4279 Commerce Circle, Idaho Falls, ID 83401, or to the Wyoming Disabled Hunters at P.O. Box 2232, Cody, WY 82414.
