Lewis William Cramer, 81, of Ucon, passed away September 26, 2023, at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice and his loving family.
Lew was born September 21, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Walter Peter Cramer and Amy Elizabeth Rawle Cramer. He grew up and attended Ucon Elementary and graduated from Bonneville High School.
On June 22, 1962, he married Dayna LaRee Hamblin in the Idaho Falls Temple. Lew and LaRee made their home in Ucon, Idaho, where Lew worked in receiving for the INL for over 30 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully in many church callings including First Counselor in the Bishopric, Ward Clerk, Stake Young Men’s President, Stake Missionary, and Music Chairman. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fly fishing, reading, singing, and performing in plays. He also spent time in choirs and quartets with other church members and families.
Lew is survived by his son, Curtis Cramer of Ucon, ID; daughter, Deborah Cramer of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Brenda Merchant of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brent Cramer of Ucon, ID; sister, Irene Simpkins of Enterprise, UT; brother, Richard Cramer of North Ogden, UT; brother, Steve (Jeniel) Cramer of Moses Lake, WA; brother, Irving (Kathy) Cramer of Pocatello, ID; sister, Anita Campbell of Idaho Falls, ID; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dayna LaRee Cramer; father, Walter Cramer; mother, Amy Cramer; brother, Evan Cramer; sister, Sharon Todd; brother, Norman Cramer; brother, Stanley Cramer; sister, Kathleen Cramer; sister, Glenna Oswald; and sister, Alice Rae Bloxham.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Ucon Stake Center, 2967 East 105 North, with Bishop James Passey officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery. The service will be broadcast from the church here.
