Lester John Allred, 94, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 13, 2010 at Parkwood Meadows.
Les was born August 7, 1916, at Lee Creek, nine miles west of Leadore, Idaho, to Milford Allred and Olive Reddington Allred. He attended public schools in Leadore.
He married Wanda Lucille Hancock on August 8, 1936 in Salmon, Idaho. They made their home in Salmon where Les began as a self-employed wood hauler. He later worked as a truck and bus driver for the State of Idaho and the City of Salmon. While in Salmon, he worked for the Ford dealership, then the Chevrolet dealership as their office manager where he learned his bookkeeping skills. Les and Wanda moved to Idaho Falls in 1957, and he went to work as a bookkeeper, first at Roy J. Keller and later at Monte Wight Motors. Wanda preceded him in death on February 11, 2003.
Les was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Oddfellows. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, taking trips with his wife for art shows, and working on his yard.

Les was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda; daughter, Sharon Ann Walters; sister, Hazel Schofield; and a grandson, Derek Allred.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Bishop Clint Francis of the Idaho Falls LDS 10th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. prior to departing for the cemetery.
