Leslie Leonard Strong, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 11, 2014, at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello. He was under the care of Access Hospice.
Leslie was born April 10, 1927, in Maxwell, California, to Jasper S. Strong and Elizabeth Copp Strong. He grew up and attended schools in Maxwell and graduated from Maxwell High School.
Leslie served the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio operator.
On June 18, 1965, he married Bessie Myrtle "Betty" Vickers at Sacramento, California. Leslie and Bessie made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Leslie worked as a electronic repairman of musical instruments.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed Ham radios, camping and sports.
Leslie is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Bessie Strong of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Elizabeth Ann Strong;
stepson, Joseph Birdsong of Tucson, AZ;
stepdaughter, Gail Birdsong of Idaho Falls, ID;
stepson, Timothy Birdsong of Shelton, WA;
4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild
He was preceded in death by his parents.
