Lesli Beatrice (Stone) Mortensen

Lesli was born December 26, 1950, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Jack and Beatrice (Stoddard) Stone. She was raised in St. Anthony with sisters, Luciel Hixon, JacqueLynn Lovelend, Jarice Halstead, Stephanie Packer, and Celinda Winters. Growing up in a home with six very active sisters was lively, to say the least. Lesli's parents called her their "Little Peace Maker". When Lesli's seven children would hear their grandparents apply that moniker to their mother, they would always smile sarcastically and reply with something such as, "Yeah, right”. Loving and tough were a couple of their mother's many attributes. Lesli married Steve Mortensen on March 12, 1970. They were childhood "frenemies" who would enjoy antagonizing each other only to later become high school sweethearts.

Lesli was a Daughter of God and "filled the measure of her creation" magnificently. Her family was ALWAYS her life's destiny. Lesli knew she had been called by God to serve as a righteous friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and granny. She never allowed other cares or responsibilities to interfere with this sacred calling. Lesli succeeded beautifully while in mortality and will continue to triumph in her life after death. Her seven children, as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their many friends, have always been strengthened and blessed while in her presence. Anyone who knew Lesli would gravitate to her love, light, and goodness. Lesli's righteous guidance will continue throughout the eternities as her posterity joyfully rush to her uplifting love and receive an added measure of "The Light of Christ" from her radiating influence. We know this brief and clumsy description is true. As Lesli leaves her love, we are each determined to live our own lives such that we shall also, through Jesus Christ, gain life's victory and continue as an eternal family. We know our mother as a virtuous woman, "priced above all rubies." As Proverbs 31 states, "her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. For a woman that feareth the Lord shall be praised. And all the fruits of her hands shall praise her at the gates."

Lesli's beloved posterity:  Lance and Wendy (seven children & one grandchild), Brock and Kelly (four children & one grandchild), Judd (five children), Maeli and Hans Bastian (four children), The Josh Man and Alexis (six children), Seth and Carrie (four children & one grandchild),and Bart and Chelsea (three children).
