Leroy Edwards

LeRoy Don Edwards, 79, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at his home in Blackfoot. LeRoy was born March 4, 1933 in Firth, Idaho to Donno L. Edwards and Chloe Thornton Edwards. He grew up and attended schools in Osgood and Pocatello. He also lived in Washington. LeRoy served in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. He was a farmer. He married Karen Hoylman in June of 1956. They were later divorced. On November 8, 1968, LeRoy married Maxine Jane Hunt in Rigby, Idaho. Maxine passed away April 21, 2011. Le Roy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed camping, collecting old cars, and making desserts. Survivors include: Daughter: Amber (Bob) Valentine of Enumclaw, WA; Son: Carl (Sharon) Edwards of Orting, WA; Daughter: Dawn (John Jarvis) Edwards of Ranier, OR; Daughter: Kendra (Tom) Frogge of Puyallup, WA; Son: John (Becky) Bate of Rigby, ID; Daughter: Donna (Will) Hall of Blackfoot, ID; Son: Mark (Genette) Edwards of Phoenix, AZ; Sister: Sheryl Hunt of Milo, ID; Brothers: Bob Edwards of Pocatello, ID; and Jack Edwards of North Carolina; 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maxine, three sisters, and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue). The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening and one hour prior to services, both visitations at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Annis - Little Butte Cemetery with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Memorial Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
