Leona Erickson

Leona Vivian Erickson, 80, of Idaho Falls passed away June 2, 2013 at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born December 3, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph LeRoy Butler and Signe Leonia Besse Bruce Butler. She grew up in the Salt Lake area and attended schools there graduating from Granite High School. She married Orrin John Erickson in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 20, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Orrin passed away February 28, 1992. Leona lived in the Salt Lake City area until 1971. She lived in, Michigan, Virginia, and Canada for a short time before relocating to Idaho Falls. Leona was a homemaker and a mother. She worked outside of the home at a jam factory and was an elevator operator. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The joy of her life was her family, her children and her grandchildren. She is survived by: Son, Earl John (Ann) Erickson of Madison, Alabama; Daughter, Julie Beth (Eric )Hill of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Son, Edward Lyle (Michele) Erickson of Springfield, Virginia; Son, Joseph Raymond (Valerie) Erickson of Jefferson City, Tennessee Daughter, Mary Leavitt of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Brother, Joseph LeRoy (Patricia) Butler of Kaysville, Utah; Brother, Kenneth Butler of Salt Lake City, Utah; Brother, Richard (Lois) Butler of Murray, Utah; Sister, Francis (Earl) Brady of Clinton, UT; Sister Mabel (Boyd) Josephson of Egin, Idaho; 25 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, Orrin, daughter, Janet and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and David Graveside services will be at11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 6 , 2013 at Archer-Sutton Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Wood Funeral Home,273 North Ridge Ave.
