Leo David Eaton, 58, of Ammon, passed away June 18, 2018, in Burley, Idaho. Leo was born December 10, 1959, in Lewistown, Montana, to Bert D. Eaton and Velda Leone Harrison Hogan. He grew up and attended schools in Lewistown and graduated from Fergus High School. He also attended Ricks College, Western Montana College and Eastern Oregon University where he received his Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. On May 6, 1983, he married Cynthia Kay Krantz for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with five children, Sarah, Jessica, Daniel, Jared and Ben. Leo and Cynthia made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Leo worked as a school teacher for School District #91. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed family, music, games, scenic byways, service and life. Leo is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cynthia Kay Eaton of Ammon, ID; daughter, Sarah (Justin) Bodily of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jessica (Justin) Dalling of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Daniel (Kinzie) Eaton of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jared (Staci) Eaton of Rexburg, ID; son, Ben (Kendra) Eaton of Pocatello, ID; sister, Evelyn (Lawrence) Pool of Deer Lodge, MT; sister, Linda Lay of Thompson Falls, MT; sister, Sylvia McDuffie of Carrolton, GA; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Eaton; mother, Velda Hogan; brother, Howard Eaton; and sister, June Saari. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Ammon LDS 11th Ward, 1100 S. Tiebreaker, with Bishop Cort McCammon officiating. The family will visit with friends from 8:30-10:15 a.m. prior to services.
