Vee Leo Campbell, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice and his loving family.
Leo was born December 26, 1946 in Rigby, ID to Leo Hyrum Campbell and Phyllis LaVern Barnard Campbell. He grew up in eastern Idaho and graduated from Bonneville High School. He lived in Saugus, California for a short time after being discharged from the Air Force and later returned to Idaho Falls.
On May 23, 1979 Leo married Kathleen A. Empey Young in Idaho Falls, Idaho. From this union they were blessed with 2 children.
Leo served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, earning the ranking of Airman 3rd Class. He worked as an Aircraft Mechanic, roofer, and was a bus driver for the INL. Leo retired from the INL in 1990.
Leo was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a member of the Idaho Falls Arts Guild and loved painting landscapes, which can be found in various locations across the United States. Leo won first place in the Idaho State Veterans Art Show and the painting was displayed in the rotunda of the United States capital.
He enjoyed oil painting, hunting, fishing, horsemanship, storytelling and especially spending time with his friends and family.
Leo is survived by his loving wife Kathy of 35 years,

23 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Halene Hodge and a daughter, Kara Russell.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon). The family will visit with friends Thursday one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
