LELAND YOUNG IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Our loving father and grandpa, Leland Terry Young, moved on to greater heights on March 27, 2006, just 7 days short of his 95th birthday. He was born April 4, 1911, at Price, Carbon County, Utah, to Silas S. and Maryann Young. He was raised on a Coal Creek ranch. He married Agnes Delsa Branch January 20, 1939, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They soon moved to Idaho Falls and spent most of their married life in Idaho, spending time in Idaho Falls, Shelley, Burley, Buhl, and Boise. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was dedicated to his family and to serving others. He loved temple work and spent the past 10 years in full-time temple service. He had a great love for genealogy, sheepherding, fishing, and hunting. He is survived by his children: Callis (Mary), Terry (Barbara), Norma, Vona (Sherman) Williams, Silas Paul (Dixie), and Amos DowRell (Melody), 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; his parents; brothers and sisters; and one son, Kent Grainger. A viewing will be held Thursday, March 30, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 1, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home's Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho. A viewing will be held for one hour prior to the service at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
