Leland "Lee" (Lee) Mawson

Leland “Lee” J. Mawson, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 8, 2013, at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho and his loving daughters. Lee was born June 26, 1929, in Ammon, Idaho, to George William Mawson and Chloe Alberta Mawson. He grew up in Ammon and graduated from Ammon High School. Lee served in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. On August 3, 1958, he married Monna Jean Caudle. Together they raised their two daughters, Robyn and Kristen. Monna passed away November 30, 1990. In October, 1992, Lee married Mary Margaret Lundine in the First Christian Church in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Mary passed away January 1, 1997. Lee worked as a RCA Field Technician Representative and retired from Intermountain Gas Company as a corrosion technician. Lee was a member of the First Christian Church. He enjoyed golf, hunting, skiing and camping. Survivor’s include: Daughter: Robyn Elizabeth (Brett) Ravan of Louisa, VA; Daughter: Kristen Morgan of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother: Francis William (Susan) Mawson of Nampa, ID; Brother: Don D. (Gloria) Mawson of Mesa, AZ; Brother: Gene William Covert of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister: Alberta Betsy Gray of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister: Verla May (Hank)Shumate of Swan valley, ID; 3 grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Paxton, Jason Lee Wilkinson and Trevor Madison Ravan. and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 1:00-1:45 p.m. Thursdaym both at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
