Lela May Wobig, 80, of Ammon, passed away December 8, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Lela was born May 18, 1935, in Provo, Utah, to Elgin Louis Lee and Ivy Beckstead Lee. She grew up and attended schools in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School. On December 17, 1954, she married Howard Allen Wobig in Salt Lake City, Utah. To this union were born seven children, Rachelle, Lee, Wendy, Ron, Tracy, Larry, and Aymee. Lela and Howard moved to this area in 1974 from Colorado Springs. They made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Lela worked as an artist. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lela was a beautiful artist. She enjoyed working in oil and water color painting. She also taught art classes in the community. She was a member of the Idaho Falls Art Guild. She also enjoyed making and hand sculpting dolls and jewelry. In her later years she enjoyed making quilts, baby clothes, and many other items that she enjoyed donating to a number of humanitarian centers. She wrote the following for her 60th class reunion: "I worked in Salt Lake City, Utah, the first year out of high school. Then I married a serviceman and spent twenty years as an "Army Wife." We were stationed and lived various places - Oklahoma, Munich (Germany), Georgia, Mannheim (Germany), Colorado Springs, Colorado, Then, off to retirement in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I spent most of my time, obviously, with my seven children. I held almost every position a woman could fill in the church on Ward and Stake levels. I survived cancer, a stroke, and the loss of a partner, so I feel very fortunate. I enjoy art shows, concerts, lunch with my "widow buddies" once or twice a month. I enjoy a good movie - Les Miserables , Lincoln , What Dreams May Come , and Legends of the Fall . I love books of all kind. Needless to say, I stay very busy and I love it." Lela is survived by her daughter, Rachelle "Shellie" (Bryan) Blomquist of Orangville, UT; son, Lee Wobig of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Wendy Drollinger of Boise, ID; son, Ron Wobig of OR; daughter, Tracy (Greg) Hodel of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Larry (Meridee) Wobig of Iona, ID; daughter, Aymee (Dave) Richards of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Jerry (Teresa) Lee of South Jordan, UT; sister, Peggy Tidwell of Mt.
