Lela Mae Davis Ard, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 2, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. She was born April 30, 1938, at Wilford, Idaho to Walter Henry Davis and Leona Nelson Davis. The family later moved to Idaho Falls where she attended schools. On November 12, 1960, she married Gary Demar Ard in Elko, Nevada. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. Lela and Gary started Gary’s Truck and Auto Repair and she worked as the bookkeeper for 34 years. They were compassionate and caring to those in need and many times repaired vehicles for free. Lela was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and gardening. She especially loved bowling and earned numerous bowling awards with her team including the Idaho State Championship. Lela had a very kind and loving heart and gave willingly of her time and talents. She became the primary caregiver to several of her own family members. Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care given to her by Hands of Hope Hospice, Good Samaritan Society, and Lincoln Court. Survivors are: Sister: Zelda L. (Lewis) Price, Bateville, AR and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Twila Henry and Viola “Peggy” Peterson; and brothers, Marvin Davis and Lyle Davis. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Rexburg Cemetery.
