Leisa Gifford

Leisa Gifford, 84, of Iona, passed away May 10, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Leisa was born August 1, 1931, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to James Leo Walker and Kate Wyatt Walker. She grew up and attended schools in Iona. On August 4, 1949, she married Floyd Milo Gifford in Blackfoot, Idaho. The couple was sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on October 6, 1998. To this union were born four children, Wanett, Kett, Leann, and Tracy. Leisa and Floyd made their home in Iona. Leisa worked for Dents Accounting, Romrell’s Campers, and more than 40 years at various produce plants around the area. She was a member of Iona ODO Club, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening, spending time with her family, reading, caregiving, temple work, quilting, and sewing. Leisa is survived by her daughter, Wanett (Daniel) Hovey of Kennewick, WA; son, Kett Delynn (Debra) Gifford of Modesto, CA; daughter, Leann (Bruce) Grover of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Tracy Floyd (Lori Ann) Gifford of Idaho Falls, ID; sister-in-law, Georgia Walker of Pocatello, ID; sister-in-law, Dee Walker of Boise, ID; sister-in-law, Venna (Larry) Rockwood of Idaho Falls, ID; sister-in-law, Joyce (Jack) Gohr of Ucon, ID; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Milo Gifford; father, James Leo Walker; mother, Kate Wyatt Walker; sister, Klyda Walker; four brothers, Lorris Layne Walker, Euil O’Vede Walker, James Wyatt Walker, and Guice Keith Walker. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at the Iona LDS Stake Center, 7555 North 55th East, with Bishop Lynn Rockwood officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Monday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m prior to services. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
