LEEARA KISHIYAMA
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Leeara Jane Kishiyama, 77, of Idaho Falls, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 10, 2007, after an extended illness. She was truly a beautiful person who loved life and had a passion for painting. She loved to read and travel. She was a beloved wife, sister, and mother who had an indomitable spirit and love for the Lord.
Leeara was born October 22, 1929, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Willie M. and Pauline Colvin Letterman. She often talked fondly of her childhood there and the adventures she had with her sister and parents. After graduating high school, the family moved to Ventura, California, where she met and married Jack L. Clarke and moved to North Edwards/Lancaster, California, and started a family. She truly loved living in the Mojave desert, as it symbolized a freedom and openness that characterized her life. She left Lancaster after her husband's untimely death in 1971 and moved to southern California, where she met Kayne and they married November 30, 1974.
Upon her encouragement and with her unfailing support, Kayne pursued a career in medicine, graduating from the University of Washington in 1984. He joined the U. S. Navy and they traveled extensively in the far east, something that she enjoyed immensely. She was truly an adventurer at heart. After leaving the Navy in 1990, they eventually settled down in Twin Falls, Idaho, and Kayne started a medical practice. They were there from 1994 to 2004, then moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to be nearer Kayne's family, due to health problems. Through it all she never gave up and never lost her love and faith in the Lord. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Church. She enjoyed painting, traveling, camping, reading, roller skating, and dancing.
Leeara is survived by her son, Cris (Linda) Clarke and grandson, Nels, of Lodi, California, by her sister, Elizabeth Reagor and her husband, Dr. H. E. Reagor, also of Lodi, California, a granddaughter, Janet (Mike) Feeney, who live in Blairstown, New Jersey, and her great grandson, Finn, her niece, Cindy (Tom) Sagmiller of Merced, California, her nephew, Jeff (Debbie) Reagor of Turlock, California, and by her husband, Kayne, and his family here in Idaho Falls.
Leeara will be deeply missed, but all of her family are comforted by the knowledge that we will see her again in paradise in the presence of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, California, under the direction of Gierhart, Wells, & Donahue Funeral Home, phone number (209) 368-2444, in Lodi.

Dr. Kishiyama, you probably won't remember me, but my husband and I usually sat near you for Sunday service at TF Reformed Church when we met in the Event Center. I remember Leeara's sweet spirit and hearing of her courage; her love of God truly did radiate in her face.
My Paul left to be with the Lord two years ago, and even as we look forward to our glorious reunion, there's an emptiness without this loved one. My prayer is that God hold you very close and that you feel His Comfort and draw on His Strength for today and all the days ahead. He truly does give Peace beyond our understanding.
Looking forward to Heaven...
