Lee Hansen, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 3, 2016, at Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Community. He was under the care of his loving family and Encompass Home Health. Lee was born October 1, 1927, in Mink Creek, Idaho, to Elias Knud Hansen and Clara Ella Payne Hansen. He grew up and attended schools in Mink Creek, became a Boy Scout, and graduated from Preston High School. He served as a Seaman Second Class in the United States Navy until 1945, then as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. On April 1, 1957, he married Betty June Ramsey in Idaho Falls, Idaho, at the Presbyterian Church by Dr Gulick. They were blessed with a daughter, Rhonda. Lee and Betty made their home in Idaho Falls, where Lee worked for Mountain Bell for over 40 years. Lee was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. He enjoyed playing and watching all sports. He coached American Legion Baseball. He helped with security at the baseball field, now Melaleuca Field. He was President of the Communication Workers of American and an active member of the Pioneers. Lee adored his family, especially his granddaughter Brittnay. He was a wonderful husband, an amazing father and grandfather, a great brother and uncle. Above all, he was a kind and gentle man. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty June Hansen of Idaho Falls, daughter, Rhonda Lee (Mark) Baldwin of Redmond, WA; granddaughter, Brittnay Lee Baldwin of Los Angeles, CA; and sister, Clara Dean (Ray) Bybee of Brigham City, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias and Clara Ella Hansen; and sisters, Molly Crane, Myrtle Hollingsworth, and Ardice Hayes. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with the Reverend Cathy Chisholm officiating. The family will visit friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Huntsman Cancer Institute, 2000 Circle of Hope, Salt Lake City, UT 84112, in Lee's memory.

2:00 PM ,Thursday, November 10, 2016 First Presbyterian Church 325 Elm Street Idaho Falls, ID, Bonneville 83402 Notes: The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial in Fielding Memorial Park.
