Arnold Lee Cordell, 72, of Rigby, passed away August 16, 2016, at his home of natural causes.
Lee was born November 9, 1943, in Elizabethton, Tennessee, to William "Bill" Cordell and Lettie Mae Galliher Cordell. He grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Elizabethton High School. In 1965 and 1966, he served in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He received Military Police Training while there. After his discharge, he attended Idaho State Police Post Academy.
On September 15, 1967, he married Mary Jo Mulloy in Detroit, Michigan. To this union was born a son, Jeffrey. Lee and Mary Jo made their home in Meridian, Idaho, where he worked for the Meridian Police Department for two years. Lee worked for the Idaho State Police for 21 years.
He was a member of VFW and NRA. He enjoyed horses, dogs, collecting militaria, studying history, and sports shooting. He most enjoyed his family, his son, and two grandchildren.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Jo Cordell of Rigby, ID; son, Jeffrey, and his wife Rebecca Cordell, of Caldwell, ID; granddaughter, Joella Cordell; grandson, Marcus Cordell.
He was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Cordell, mother, Lettie Mae Cordell, sister, Vicky Cordell.
A gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
